On the 12th, global streaming platform Netflix announced that it will begin production of the original series 〈Road〉 which deals with a joint investigation between Korean and Japanese police to track a serial killer.
In this work, Korean actor Son Seok-koo and Japanese actor Nagayama Eita have been cast as the leads. The two actors will play detectives from Korea and Japan, respectively, who will track down the serial killer case.
The drama is set up with a series of similar incidents where bodies are found twisted and specific phrases are left behind, leading investigators from both countries to conduct a joint investigation.
In addition to the lead actors, a solid supporting cast has joined. Kim Shin-rok will play a Korean-Japanese businessman, Choi Sung-eun will portray a government agent uncovering the truth of the case, and Jung Jae-young will appear as a mysterious man of unknown identity.
〈Road〉 is based on the Korea-Japan co-produced comic 'Blue Road'. The direction is handled by director Han Jun-hee, who gained attention for the Netflix series 〈D.P.〉 and the film 〈Coin Locker Girl〉.
