Hong Jin-kyung Reveals Updates on Her Daughter Rael Studying Abroad... "Fluent in Four Languages, Top Math Scores"

Broadcaster Hong Jin-kyung has attracted attention by revealing updates about her daughter Rael, who is studying abroad. In a video uploaded on the 23rd to the YouTube channel 'Study King Genius Hong Jin-kyung', Hong Jin-kyung captured the moment of reuniting with her daughter after several years.

In the video, 16-year-old Rael is seen adapting to life at a foreign boarding school. Hong Jin-kyung shared, "I went to school abroad, and recently I went to a boarding school. She is making a lot of friends and studying quite hard."

Rael's academic achievements were particularly impressive. When the production team asked, "I heard your math scores are at the top," Rael revealed that she was offered a spot in a special math class but declined. She honestly explained, "If I join the special class, the pace will be too fast and the material will be too difficult, and I might not be able to maintain my top position anymore."

Living in a multicultural environment, Rael also showcased her outstanding language skills. In the video, Rael introduced herself and sang a birthday song in four languages, including Korean and English, proving her abilities. It was shown that she is developing a global perspective by interacting with friends from various nationalities.

However, school life was not always smooth sailing. Rael revealed that she once faced disciplinary action for returning late to the dorm after shopping under the pretext of visiting the hospital. Hong Jin-kyung recalled, "At that time, the school was in an uproar. I came back after 9 o'clock."

Rael explained, "That day was the day I was going to the hospital. When I asked, they said I could be marked absent for the whole day, so I didn't have to come back for the last class." She added, "Since I had time left after going to the hospital, I thought, 'Since I have some time left, should I go shopping?' and wandered around a bit."

Hong Jin-kyung stated, "The school was in a mood to impose disciplinary action. I came back with shopping bags, and the teacher thought it was not something to just overlook." She later mentioned that the situation was resolved after she sent an honest email to the school.
