Actress Jung Ryeo-won returns to the screen after 7 years with the movie 'The Woman in the White Car', which releases on the 29th, and challenges her first role in a thriller.

In an interview held in Seoul on the 28th, Jung Ryeo-won stated, "I thought, 'Is this really going to work?' because if I can't convince the audience, it's game over, but the filming itself was so much fun that I gradually gained confidence," adding, "It was a work that I shot joyfully while being awakened."

'The Woman in the White Car' is a suspense thriller that depicts the story of a writer, Do-kyung (played by Jung Ryeo-won), who brings her bloodied sister to the hospital and approaches the truth of the incident amidst her confused memories.

This work is the feature debut of director Ko Hye-jin, who formed a connection with Jung Ryeo-won as an assistant director on the drama 'The Prosecutor's Civil War' (2019), and she worked with Jung Ryeo-won and Lee Jung-eun, who plays the detective role, in mind from the script stage.

Jung Ryeo-won recalled, "I approached the filming with a mindset to burn everything, and it felt more like doing something with close friends rather than just working."

The film was shot against a winter snowy backdrop, and although the cold was tough, she willingly endured barefoot filming due to the warmth on set. Jung Ryeo-won reflected, "The atmosphere on set was one where everyone cherished each other, and I thought such a set is rare."

In particular, she highly praised Lee Jung-eun, who plays the role of police officer Hye-joo, saying, "Her demeanor while filming and her attitude towards life are that of a truly beautiful adult," and added, "I felt like I wanted to grow older with her mindset."

This film received the 'Best International Feature' award at the 22nd San Diego International Film Festival and won two awards at the 26th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, gaining attention.

Jung Ryeo-won expressed, "It seems that the energy from the set where the work is created is also captured in the film," and stated, "Whether looking back as an actor or watching as an audience, I think it's a good work."
