Actor Park Si-hoo will meet audiences this December with his music film 'The Divine Band', marking his return to the screen after 10 years. This film depicts the story of a fake praise group established in North Korea for foreign currency generation.
From 'Torture Officer' to 'Praise Group Conductor'
Park Si-hoo plays the protagonist Park Kyo-soon, a cold North Korean security officer who leads a fake band, delicately portraying his inner conflict and extreme duality. In the film, Park Kyo-soon is a character who receives orders to form a fake praise group to evade sanctions, finding himself in an ironic situation where "yesterday he tortured underground believers, but today he must lead a praise group".
Park Si-hoo stated, "As it is my long-awaited return, I carefully reviewed the script," adding, "The ingenious setting of a 'fake praise group' and the inner conflict experienced by 'Park Kyo-soon' were very appealing reasons for choosing this project."

First North Korean Themed Music Film Shot in Mongolia and Hungary
'The Divine Band' is completed with a unique setting as the first music film based on North Korea and features large-scale location shooting in Mongolia and Hungary, where temperatures fluctuate around minus 30 degrees. Director Kim Hyung-hyup, known for 'Dad is a Daughter', is at the helm.
In this work, actor Jung Jin-woon, a member of the group 2AM, joins as a key character opposing Park Si-hoo, along with verified actors such as Tae Hang-ho, Jang Ji-geon, and Yoon Je-moon, promising solid synergy.
The launch poster released by the production company caught attention with its striking visuals reminiscent of North Korean propaganda posters. 'The Divine Band' is set to be released in theaters nationwide in December.
