
Director Park Chan-wook's film 'Nothing Can Be Done' proved to be the best work of the year by winning the Best Picture Award, Best Actress Award, and Best Director Award, among a total of 6 trophies at the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards ceremony.
At the awards ceremony held at KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul on the 19th, 'Nothing Can Be Done' was recognized for both its artistic merit and box office success, brilliantly decorating the night of the Blue Dragon Awards.
Director Park Chan-wook, "Achieved a 20-Year Long Desire"
The acceptance speech of Director Park Chan-wook, who is currently attending a retrospective at the American Cinematheque in Los Angeles, was read by actor Lee Sung-min, who won the Best Supporting Actor Award.
Director Park stated, "The film 'Nothing Can Be Done' is the result of a dream I have held since I first read the novel 20 years ago," and expressed, "I am happy and proud to be able to make this story into a Korean film."
He said, "At first glance, it seems simple and comedic, but I tried to create a film that feels increasingly complex and tragic with each viewing," and added, "I am grateful that the judges of the Blue Dragon Awards recognized this point." Director Park Chan-wook set a remarkable record by winning the Best Director Award at the Blue Dragon Film Awards for the fourth time, following 'Joint Security Area' in 2000, 'Oldboy' in 2003, and 'Decision to Leave' in 2022.
In addition to the Best Director Award, 'Nothing Can Be Done' also saw Lee Sung-min (Best Supporting Actor), Jo Young-wook (Best Music), and Jo Sang-kyung (Best Technical) win awards, recognizing the film's completeness.

Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin Set a Historic Record as the 'First Couple to Win Leading Actor Awards' in 46 Years of Blue Dragon Film Awards
The biggest highlight of the awards ceremony was the moment when the couple Son Ye-jin and Hyun Bin won the leading actor awards together. The two actors received the Best Actress Award and Best Actor Award respectively, setting an unprecedented record as the first couple to win leading actor awards simultaneously in the 46-year history of the Blue Dragon Film Awards.
Son Ye-jin, Best Actress Award After 17 Years
Playing the role of 'Mi-ri', the wife of an unemployed head of the household in 'Nothing Can Be Done', Son Ye-jin won her second Blue Dragon Film Awards Best Actress Award after 17 years since 'My Wife Got Married' in 2008.
Son Ye-jin expressed, "I am grateful to receive this award again now that I am in my mid-forties after winning for the first time at 27," and added, "My perspective on the world has changed since becoming a wife and a mother. I will continue to grow as a good adult and a good actress."

Hyun Bin Wins Best Actor Award for Role as Ahn Jung-geun
The Best Actor Award was won by Hyun Bin, who played Ahn Jung-geun in director Woo Min-ho's film 'Harbin'.
Hyun Bin stated, "I am here thanks to those who dedicated and sacrificed themselves to protect our country," and expressed his noble feelings by saying, "First, I would like to thank them." He added, "I want to tell my wife Ye-jin and my son that I love them for being a source of strength just by being there."
Son Ye-jin also expressed her affection for her family, saying, "I will share the joy of this award with my two beloved men, my husband Kim Tae-pyeong and my son Kim Woo-jin."
