The Japanese masterpiece film 'Railway Man', which garnered 290,000 viewers in Seoul alone during its domestic release in 2000, has confirmed its re-release on January 7, 2026.

Starring the late Ken Takakura and Ryoko Hirosue, this work begins with the story of a railway man, Oto, who has dedicated his life to the Horomai Station, encountering a strange girl on the platform on a snowy New Year's morning. It captures the sense of duty towards one's profession and reflections on human life against the stunning winter scenery of Hokkaido.

Winning the Best Actor award at the Montreal International Film Festival in 1999 and sweeping 22 categories worldwide, it is a representative Japanese film that was officially released after the opening of Japanese popular culture. A teaser poster featuring Oto sending off a train from the soon-to-be-closed Horomai Station alongside the mysterious girl Sato has been released, hinting at a reunion with audiences this winter.
