Actress Kristen Stewart's directorial debut 〈The Chronology of Water〉 is set to land in South Korea in 2026.
〈The Chronology of Water〉 was invited to the 'Un Certain Regard' section of the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, and it has garnered much anticipation as a work directed by Kristen Stewart. The film, which captures Lydia's journey of reclaiming her voice through writing after she was finally able to breathe freely underwater, is famous for the anecdote that Kristen Stewart personally secured the film rights.
On December 9, distributor Pancinema announced that 〈The Chronology of Water〉 will be released in South Korea in the first half of 2026 and unveiled the teaser poster. The poster features a film visual that interweaves the past and present of the protagonist 'Lydia', played by the familiar actress Imogen Poots, known to domestic audiences from films like 〈28 Weeks Later〉, 〈Jane Eyre〉, and 〈The Father〉, with the tagline "Memory is Story" added, sparking curiosity about how she regains her new voice through writing from the depths of her emotions.
The award-winning film at the Deauville American Film Festival, 〈The Chronology of Water〉, was co-produced by director Ridley Scott and is set to be released in the first half of 2026.
