In SBS ‘Kkokkomu’, Ailet Yoona weeps at the cry of emergency responders who arrived at the scene of the ‘29-car pileup at Seohae Bridge’.

Today (11th), the broadcast of 〈The Story of Tails Following Tails〉 (hereafter ‘Kkokkomu’) sheds light on the shocking scene of the 2006 Seohae Bridge 29-car chain collision that resulted in 12 deaths and over 50 injuries, along with testimonies from those involved in the accident. Among them, Ailet Yoona, actor Lee Seo-hwan, and Yoon Hyun-min will join to witness the shocking scene together.

‘Kkokkomu’ highlights the worst traffic accident scene in South Korean history. On October 3, 2006, a dense fog made visibility nearly impossible on Seohae Bridge, leading to a staggering 29-car chain collision. The situation was further exacerbated by a fire, turning the scene into utter chaos. In particular, a firefighter who responded to the call revealed, “What usually takes 5 minutes to arrive took over 20 minutes,” shocking everyone. Due to the lack of visibility, vehicles stopped on the roadside, and even onlookers at the accident scene made it difficult to access the site. A private emergency responder present at the scene said, “I still have trauma. Just thinking about that day brings me to tears,” and expressed regret, saying, “I witnessed people burning, and I still feel sorry for not being able to save them,” leaving viewers heartbroken.

In response, Ailet Yoona said, “I think I would live with resentment for the rest of my life. I would have thought, ‘Couldn’t we have done something a little faster?’” and was moved to tears by the emergency responder’s heartfelt cry.

Survivors who were trapped in their vehicles due to the collision and experienced the fire expressed, “Even recalling that time is painful and difficult,” making it hard for the production team to find witnesses. Even 9 years later, a 106-car pileup occurred on Yeongjong Bridge. Whether these consecutive major pileup accidents are due to human error or natural disasters will be revealed in today’s (11th) broadcast of ‘Kkokkomu’.

‘Kkokkomu’ is a program where three 'storytellers' share what they have learned through their own studies with their respective 'story friends' in the most ordinary spaces, airing every Thursday at 10:20 PM on SBS.
