"Passing through the forests and seas of Pandora, this time it's 'Fire'." Director James Cameron's new work 〈Avatar: Fire and Ash〉 has heated up the box office from its opening day.
According to the integrated ticket sales network on the 18th, 〈Avatar: Fire and Ash〉 started off with an overwhelming 1st place at the box office, with over 265,000 viewers on its opening day (the 17th). It is characterized by a high proportion of special theater viewings. 33.4% of viewers chose the 3D format, and 6.5% chose 4D screenings, indicating a preference for viewing methods that maximize visual effects.
〈Avatar: Fire and Ash〉 is a sequel released three years after its predecessor 〈Avatar: The Way of Water〉, featuring the aggressively changed Na'vi tribe 'the Ash Clan' and forming a new conflict structure. Despite its runtime of 197 minutes (3 hours and 17 minutes), audience reactions have been positive.
The CGV Egg Index was recorded at 94%. Viewers rated the beautiful visuals and grand storytelling as highly immersive. However, some reviews mentioned concerns about the burden of the runtime exceeding 3 hours.
In terms of reservation rates, the strength of 〈Avatar: Fire and Ash〉 continues. As of 9 AM that day, over 615,000 reservations had been completed, maintaining a reservation rate of 71.1% at the top.
The 'Avatar' series directed by James Cameron has recorded high box office success worldwide. The first film ranked first in all-time box office, and the second film 〈The Way of Water〉 also achieved great success globally. There is industry interest in whether the third film 〈Fire and Ash〉 can continue the success of its predecessors in the domestic market.
