First to meet the audience is 'My Sunshine', which is an official selection in the 'Un Certain Regard' section of the 77th Cannes Film Festival. Set in a snowy rural town in Hokkaido, it depicts the growth of a boy learning ice hockey as he discovers the charm of figure skating.
Director Okuyama adopted a unique directing style where he explains only the situation instead of providing a fixed script to child actors, resulting in natural performances reminiscent of a documentary. In particular, leveraging his own experience of learning figure skating as a child, he filmed some scenes while skating himself, maximizing the liveliness on the ice.

Following that, 'Nouvelle Vague' is a film that deals with the production of the legendary Jean-Luc Godard's masterpiece 'Do What You Want'. It interestingly unravels his artistic world and production behind the scenes by borrowing Godard's unique style. The two films that Cannes has spotlighted are expected to provide audiences with an unforgettable cinematic experience in January.
'Nouvelle Vague' was invited to the 78th Cannes Film Festival competition section this year and was nominated for the 98th Academy Awards for Cinematography.
