Netflix 'BEEF' Season 2 to Premiere on April 16... Starring Song Kang-ho and Youn Yuh-jung

The Netflix drama series 〈BEEF〉(original title BEEF), which made waves in Hollywood in 2023, is returning for Season 2.

Netflix announced on the 21st via its official site Tudum that 〈BEEF〉 Season 2 will be released on April 16. Director Lee Sung-jin, who dominated Hollywood awards with Season 1 three years ago, is back as the creator and executive producer to lead the project.

Season 2 consists of 8 episodes, each 30 minutes long, featuring Hollywood A-list actors Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan in leading roles. Notably, Youn Yuh-jung plays the role of 'Chairman Park', a billionaire owner of a country club, while Song Kang-ho takes on the role of her second husband 'Dr. Kim', drawing more attention to the global activities of Korean actors.

This season is set against the backdrop of an upscale country club, depicting a shocking conflict between a Gen Z couple and a millennial boss and his wife, as they become entangled in the unraveling marriage of the couple.

Director Lee Sung-jin stated, "I wanted the conflicts of this season to have a more passive-aggressive tone," adding, "I focused more on the internal repression of anger witnessed in the workplace."

The first season of 〈BEEF〉, which premiered on Netflix in April 2023, delicately captured the process of escalating conflict between the two protagonists, Danny and Amy, sparked by a minor dispute while driving. Steven Yeun and Ali Wong starred in the lead roles.

This work won three awards, including Best Limited Series and Best Actor and Actress, at the Golden Globe Awards in January 2024. It then swept four awards at the Critics' Choice Awards and eight awards at the Emmys, also receiving top honors at the American Producers, Actors, and Writers Guild Awards, dominating Hollywood awards.
