World-renowned fantasy master Neil Gaiman (65) has spoken out about the sexual assault and scandal allegations surrounding him after more than a year. He strongly denies all allegations, claiming that legal and material evidence proves his innocence.
According to foreign media on the 3rd (Korean time), Gaiman posted a lengthy statement on his personal blog on the 2nd, stating, "The allegations against me are completely, and simply not true."
◆ "Media Ignoring Evidence... I Am Innocent"
Gaiman has remained silent regarding the claims of five women that surfaced through the 'Tortoise Media' podcast in July 2024. In particular, the lawsuit filed by former nanny Scarlett Pavlovich was dismissed in October 2025 by the Wisconsin Federal Court due to jurisdiction issues. Gaiman added, "Despite the vast evidence including emails, text messages, and videos refuting the allegations, the media ignored it," and expressed gratitude to the Substack journalist 'Technopathology' for conducting fact-based investigations.
◆ Career Impacted, but... "Currently Writing a New Major Work"
Due to this scandal, Amazon's 'Good Omens' was concluded in a reduced form, and Disney's 'The Graveyard Book' project was put on hold, significantly impacting his career. However, Gaiman expressed his determination to return, stating he adheres to his creed of "Make Good Art" during difficult times. He declared, "The new novel I am currently writing will be the biggest project since 'American Gods'" and affirmed his commitment to continue his activities as a writer.
