British provocateur comedian Ricky Gervais once again voiced his criticism towards the '2026 Grammy Awards' that were overshadowed by political slogans.
According to foreign media on the 3rd (Korean time), Gervais posted on his social media X (formerly Twitter) on the 2nd, the day after the awards ceremony, "They still don’t listen", along with a legendary clip of his 2020 Golden Globe opening.

◆ "You don’t know the world"
The video shared by Gervais features him admonishing the winners in 2020, saying, "Don’t make political speeches. You are not in a position to teach the public anything. Don’t you know anything about the real world?" This is interpreted as a jab at the 68th Grammy Awards held on the 1st, where Bad Bunny ('Album of the Year') shouted "ICE out" and Billie Eilish ('Song of the Year') stated, "No one is illegal on stolen land," turning the ceremony into a platform to criticize the Trump administration's immigration policies.
◆ Trump "I will sue Noah" goes wild
Meanwhile, the aftermath of the ceremony escalated into a verbal clash between President Donald Trump and host Trevor Noah. During the ceremony, Noah made a pointed joke towards Trump, which infuriated him, leading Trump to threaten on his social media 'Truth Social', saying, "Noah lied that I went to Epstein's island" and "I will send my lawyers to sue this talentless host."
Political commentator Bill Maher also supported Gervais's opinion, stating, "Celebrity lectures do not help in elections," indicating that the political impact left by the Grammys is spreading beyond the entertainment industry.
