KATSEYE, Selected by The Washington Post as One of the '50 People to Lead Society in 2026'... The Only K-Pop Group

KATSEYE, a Korean-American girl group formed by HYBE and Geffen Records, has been named in The Washington Post's list of 'Post Next - 50 People Who Will Shape Our Society in 2026'.

On the 9th (local time), The Washington Post announced that KATSEYE was selected as a next-generation player in the arts and entertainment sector. This list is curated based on in-depth reporting by journalists on individuals who will change American society across various fields such as politics, technology, and culture.

KATSEYE is a six-member girl group that debuted last year, consisting of members from three continents: Daniela (USA), Lara (USA), Manon (Switzerland), Megan (USA), Sofia (Philippines), and Yoonchae (Korea). While based on the K-Pop production system, it features only one member from Korea and is characterized by its diverse cultural backgrounds.

The Washington Post described KATSEYE as "a Grammy-nominated artist breaking the mold of K-Pop and going global." It further stated, "This group, composed of members from three continents, adds a global sensibility to the K-Pop group format," and noted that "KATSEYE's diversity is a distinguishing factor from other K-Pop groups."

In particular, unlike most K-Pop stars who refrain from public relationships, KATSEYE openly discloses their private lives, including sexual orientation such as bisexuality and homosexuality, as well as mental health, which is also seen as a differentiating factor.

KATSEYE is rapidly establishing its presence in the global music market. On the 1st, they were nominated for Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 68th Grammy Awards, and they are set to perform at major events this year, including Lollapalooza in South America and the largest music festival in the U.S., Coachella, in April.
