The documentary 〈Voices of the Revived〉, presented by second-generation Korean resident documentary filmmaker and writer Park Su-nam and his daughter Park Ma-ui, continues to demonstrate its presence in various places since its first release in 2024. Recently, 〈Voices of the Revived〉 achieved a total of 4 awards, including the 99th Kinema Junpo Cultural Film Award, the 80th Mainichi Film Competition Documentary Film Award, and the 53rd Japan Film Pen Club Award.
'Kinema Junpo', introduced as the most prestigious magazine in the Japanese film industry, listed 〈Voices of the Revived〉 in its Best Ten for 2025. The 'Mainichi Film Competition', which is evaluated as the most prestigious award with the longest history in the Japanese film industry, also awarded 〈Voices of the Revived〉 with the first place in the cultural film category and the documentary film award. The 'Japan Film Pen Club Award', an organization involving critics, reporters, and production experts in Japanese film and video, selects individuals who have contributed to the film industry through member voting each year, naming Park Su-nam as the recipient of the Achievement Award and second place in the cultural film category.
Having met Korean audiences in November 2024, 〈Voices of the Revived〉 was released in the Japanese film industry in August 2025, achieving these results. The historical documentation of the resistance and struggles of Korean residents in Japan, along with the process of digitally restoring approximately 50 hours of 16mm film, proves that 〈Voices of the Revived〉 will continue to be mentioned in the history of documentary filmmaking.
