'K-Pop Demon Hunters' Director Chris Appelhans to Appear on 'Hey! First Time in Korea?'... Traveling with Korean Wife and Son

Chris Appelhans, co-director of the Netflix animated film 〈K-Pop Demon Hunters〉 (hereafter 〈K-Pop Demon Hunters〉), which won two Academy Awards this year, will appear on a Korean variety show.

MBC Every1 announced on the 17th that Appelhans will appear on 〈Hey! First Time in Korea?〉. Appelhans is known for co-directing 〈K-Pop Demon Hunters〉, which has created a global phenomenon alongside Canadian director Maggie Kang.

Appelhans's wife is a Korean painter and a well-known author, and it is said that he developed a deep affection for Korean culture due to her influence. In this broadcast, Appelhans will showcase his travels in Korea with his Korean wife and their 5-year-old son, who wants to learn Korean after watching 〈K-Pop Demon Hunters〉.

〈K-Pop Demon Hunters〉 reached the peak of its phenomenon by winning the Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song at the Academy Awards on the 16th (local time), following wins at the Golden Globes and Grammys.
