HBO’s original drama ‘Euphoria (Euphoria)’, which sparked a global sensation, has finally pulled back the curtain on its third season after a long wait.
■ From the Mexican cartel to a shocking marriage… A darker narrative
According to HBO and reports from international media on the 31st, the second official trailer for Euphoria Season 3, set to premiere on April 12 next month, has been released in full out of the blue. This season deeply explores the harsh realities the protagonists face as they come of age, as well as the unconventional paths their lives take.
The trailer opens with an urgent scene in which the protagonist Rue (played by Zendaya) is interrogated after working as a drug mule in Mexico. Now, after swallowing an unidentified substance, she’s even more vulnerable, leaving viewers shaken. Meanwhile, alongside an unexpected wedding scene featuring Cassie (played by Sydney Sweeney) and Nate (played by Jacob Elordi), the trailer also teases a more provocative turn: Cassie reconnects with Maddy (played by Alexa Demie) and starts producing adult content.
■ From Sharon Stone to Rosalía… An all-time-level lineup of brand-new casting
Along with the existing leading cast—Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, and others—this season features a large influx of legendary Hollywood actors and artists, raising expectations.
In particular, actor Sharon Stone will appear in the series as a showrunner, and the drama is poised to gain energy from a lineup of dazzling new faces, including the global pop star Rosalía, as well as Natasha Lyonne and Eli Roth, among others. Producer Sam Levinson previously shared updates on the characters at an event held in London, saying, “Jules (played by Hunter Schafer) is an art student, and Maddy is working at a Hollywood agency as she carves out her own life.”

■ A preview of adult brutality amid fates that diverge
Season 3 goes beyond the wandering of their high school days, capturing the struggles of young people caught between responsibility and escape. Expectations are high for a dense portrayal of each character’s inner collapse and growth as they step into adult society, including Lexi (played by Maude Apatow), who works as Sharon Stone’s assistant.
With its daring visuals and unapologetically bold storytelling, Euphoria has earned both controversy and praise every season. All eyes are on what new record Season 3 will set this time. Fans are holding their breath, waiting for the full series to drop on HBO Max and beyond next month (local time).
