Actor 'Park Ji-hyun' has achieved a landmark feat through the Netflix original series 'Eun-jung and Sang-yeon', becoming the first Korean actress in history to earn a nomination for Best Actress at the 'International Emmy Awards'. According to an announcement from the International Emmy organizers on the 25th, her name was included among the final nominees for Best Actress at the 54th ceremony. She will compete alongside leading actresses from Belgium, Mexico, Britain and other major global markets.

Released last September, 'Eun-jung and Sang-yeon' is a critically acclaimed series chronicling the complicated bond between two women from their teens into their 40s. It tackles the weighty social issue of 'assisted dying' through an intricate psychological battle between 'Kim Go-eun' and 'Park Ji-hyun', earning overwhelming praise from critics.

Korean content continues its global charge with nominations across genres

The strength of Korea's high-quality content also carried over to the Disney+ series 'Hyper Knife'. The 'International Emmy Awards', regarded as one of the world's three major television awards, is the industry's most prestigious ceremony honoring outstanding TV programs produced outside the United States. After KBS 2TV's 'The King's Affection' became the first Korean drama to win in 2022, observers are watching to see whether Korean content can once again reach the global summit this year.
