BTS sets overseas record as ‘Boy With Luv’ surpasses 1 million points

Record-breaking run continues as global pop icons take over Japan

BTS has reached another milestone in Japan’s music market. According to the latest Oricon weekly combined singles ranking, released on the 28th, the group’s mega-hit “Boy With Luv” has surpassed 1 million cumulative points.

The ranking is a widely recognized measure that goes beyond album sales to incorporate streaming figures and digital download performance. With this achievement, BTS now has four singles that have exceeded 1 million points: “Lights / Boy With Luv,” “Dynamite” and “Butter / Permission to Dance.”

That is the most ever by an overseas artist in Japan, underscoring the group’s enduring global influence. Last February, BTS became the first overseas artist to reach 4 million points with “Butter / Permission to Dance,” setting an unprecedented record.

BTS also already has three million-point albums on the combined albums ranking. By demonstrating broad commercial power across both singles and albums, the group continues to leave a significant mark on pop history.
