Romance sparked on a variety show blossoms through an artistic connection
Singer and painter “Solbi” (born Kwon Ji-an, 42) and actor “Lee Kyu-han” (46) will marry next April.
Solbi’s agency, Jian Castle, officially announced on the 15th that “the two recently met with both families and shared their intentions to marry, and they plan to hold their wedding next April.” The ceremony will be a private, solemn affair attended only by family members, relatives and close friends from both sides.
The couple’s relationship began after they appeared together last year on KBS 2TV’s dating reality show “Seeking Old Connections” (hereafter, “Old Connections”). During the program, Lee Kyu-han emphasized their special connection, saying, “I did a variety show with Solbi before,” while Solbi made no secret of her interest, saying, “You looked great then, but you’re much more trim now.” The two gradually grew closer through their shared interests, naturally became a couple and are now set to become husband and wife.
The agency added, “We hope you will send warm congratulations and support to the two as they prepare for a new beginning in life,” and said, “They will continue to grow together as precious partners, helpers who support each other’s journeys and pillars of strength.”
Solbi debuted in 2006 as a member of the coed group “Typhoon” and won widespread public affection with emotional dance tracks including “So...” and “Only You....” She moved into a solo career in 2007 and, beginning with her first solo exhibition in 2012, established herself as a “painter.” Last year, she also made her debut as a “drama writer” by writing the screenplay for the short-form production “My Ex-Boyfriend Is a Top Star,” showcasing her artistic talent across multiple fields.
Lee Kyu-han is a veteran actor who made his debut in 1996 with KBS 2TV’s youth drama “Start.” He has demonstrated his solid acting skills in numerous hit productions, including “My Lovely Sam Soon” (2005), “Que Sera, Sera” (2007) and “The Rich Son” (2018). More recently, he has maintained an active “acting career,” landing consecutive roles in KBS 2TV’s “Dear Thief,” which ended its run in February, and the highly anticipated 2024 series “The Judge from Hell.”
