From “stage connection” to “lifelong partners”: Acclaimed actors make a meaningful vow
Actor “Bae Nara” (35), known for his work on musical stages and the small screen, and “Han Jae-a” (34, born Cho Yeon-jeong) are tying the knot.
On the 3rd, Bae Nara's agency, YY Entertainment, and Han Jae-a's agency, Big Boss Entertainment, announced in official statements that the couple will marry in a private ceremony on the 14th at Oksudong Catholic Church in Seoul, with only family, relatives and close friends in attendance.
Along with the news, the two shared heartfelt messages with fans on their respective social media accounts. “Bae Nara” posted a handwritten letter, saying, “I’ve found someone precious whom I want to walk through life with.” He added, “I will continue to work hard and diligently, staying true to myself, and become an even more dedicated actor and the head of a family.”
“Han Jae-a” also wrote, “I’ve met someone who will stand by me through both joyful moments and difficult days. We promised to share the years ahead and build a life in which we cherish and rely on each other.” She added, “As an actor, I will continue to approach my work and the people I meet with the same quiet dedication and sincerity.”
Bae Nara, who made his debut in the 2013 military creative musical “The Promise,” went on to earn recognition in musical theater with his strong singing and acting in major productions including “Grease” (2019–2020) and “Thrill Me” (2021). In particular, he made a strong impression on audiences with his powerful emotional performance as Jang Seong-min (Nina), a gay deserter, in Season 2 of the 2023 Netflix original series “D.P.” He recently appeared on MBC’s variety show “I Live Alone,” giving viewers a glimpse of his down-to-earth daily life. He is set to continue his steady run of acting projects in “Would You Marry Me?” (2025) and “Wonderfuls” (2026), both forthcoming releases.
“Han Jae-a” showed remarkable musical talent from a young age. In 2003, she sang “Crescent Moon,” the grand-prize-winning song at the 21st MBC Creative Children’s Song Festival, and that same year won the solo grand prize at the 18th Green Children’s Song Festival with “Cloud.” Since making her official debut in the 2017 musical “Hamlet: Alive,” she has earned praise for her expressive voice and nuanced acting in productions including “Maybe Happy Ending” (2021) and “West Side Story” (2022). She is currently preparing for an active slate of work, with an upcoming appearance in “Kinky Boots” (2025–2026).
The union of the two acclaimed actors is seen as rooted in the artistic rapport they built over many years onstage and the deep trust they share. As they begin a new chapter after establishing themselves in their respective fields, fans and industry figures alike are pouring out warm congratulations and support.
