Warner Bros. Discovery officially began production of the HBO Original 〈Harry Potter〉 TV series at a studio in the UK on the 14th (local time). This series is set to be released in 2027 on the HBO channel and streaming platform HBO Max.

The company also released a photo of the protagonist Dominic McLoughlin dressed as his character. The round glasses, scar on the forehead, curly hair, and Hogwarts uniform are all iconic elements of the Harry Potter character that caught attention.

Earlier, Warner Bros. announced in late May that Dominic McLoughlin was cast as Harry, Arabella Stanton as Hermione, and Alastair Stute as Ron Weasley. They were selected through a competitive audition process that began last fall, out of over 30,000 applicants.

Foreign media, including the AP, noted that the production of this series is significant as it marks the beginning of a new project 14 years after the release of 〈Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2〉 (2011).
