Ben Affleck and Matt Damon's Hulk Hogan movie has been halted, according to TMZ.
According to TMZ, the two actors have recently stopped development on the film 'Killing Gawker'. This decision is reported to be unrelated to the wrestler's death last week.
'Killing Gawker' was set to address the legal disputes that arose after the controversial gossip site Gawker published Hulk Hogan's sex tape in 2007. The tape featured Hogan engaging in sexual relations with a friend's wife and making racist remarks.
As a result of the ensuing legal battles, the internet giant Gawker filed for bankruptcy in 2016.
Ben Affleck and Matt Damon's production company Artists Equity secured the script in 2024. It was reported that Ben Affleck would play the role of Hogan, but Hogan was not involved in this project.
Sources told TMZ last year that Hogan would not hesitate to take legal action if he felt the film crossed the line.
There was also another biopic about Hogan that Chris Hemsworth was set to star in. Hogan was supposed to participate as a consultant and executive producer, but it did not come to fruition before he died of a heart attack at the age of 71 on Thursday.
