The White House has officially commented on the controversy surrounding the American Eagle jeans advertisement featuring Sydney Sweeney.

White House Communications Manager Steven Chung rebutted criticism of the ad phrase 'Sydney Sweeney has great jeans.' The ad used a pun on 'great genes' and 'great jeans.'

Some criticized the ad for glorifying Sydney Sweeney's white heritage and slim figure. Chung wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that 'cancel culture is rampaging' and that 'this distorted and foolish mindset is a major reason why Americans will vote in a certain direction in 2024.'

In the ad, Sweeney says, 'Genes are passed from parents to offspring and often determine traits like hair color, personality, and even eye color. My jeans are blue.'

Conservative TV personality Megyn Kelly also rebutted criticism of the ad. She stated, 'She is being called a white supremacist,' adding, 'It's an ad for jeans, but some think it's promoting white supremacy.'

Kelly analyzed, 'They are upset about who could be the face of America's best genes,' and said, 'Choosing a white, slim woman is not a coincidence.'
