Singer Lee Su-hyun has taken on the role of the protagonist 'Sori' in the animated film 〈Your Letter〉, marking her first venture into voice acting. Having been active as a vocalist in AKMU, Lee Su-hyun is now challenging herself in a new field beyond music.
At the press conference for 〈Your Letter〉 held at Lotte Cinema World Tower on the 15th, Lee Su-hyun stated, "Animation is something I love just as much as music, so when the (voice acting) offer came, I thought I should seize this opportunity and do my best."
She reflected, "I worked on this project with as much care and dedication as I do when creating my albums." Lee Su-hyun shared, "I thought that using my voice in front of a microphone was my original job and that I was familiar with it, but I realized that voice acting is a completely different task."
She added, "I felt a sense of pressure and fear not to let down the best voice actors in Korea that I was working with, but I pondered and researched a lot."

Director Kim Yong-hwan explained that he decided to cast Lee Su-hyun because he believed her clear voice would suit the protagonist 'Sori' well.
Director Kim stated, "I had faith that Lee Su-hyun has a high understanding of the animation genre and can use her voice freely. She took her role seriously, receiving dubbing lessons for over a month before starting the dubbing work, and I think she was perfect."
Voice actor Min Seung-woo, who voiced Jin-woo in the Korean dubbed version of the Netflix animation 〈K-Pop Demon Hunters〉, plays the character Jung Ho-yeon, who is the one writing the letters in this work.
Min Seung-woo mentioned, "The characters I play, like Jin-woo and Jung Ho-yeon, may appear strong and cool on the outside, but they are characters with deficiencies. I think I was able to immerse myself more in the role because I am also such a person."
Set to be released on the 1st of next month, 〈Your Letter〉 is an animated film by director Kim Yong-hwan based on the webtoon of the same name by writer Jo Hyun-a. It warmly depicts the process of a new student, Sori, making friends and growing as she discovers mysterious letters in various places around her new school's classroom, flower garden, and rooftop.

The work richly captures Korean landscapes, from the mountains and lakes of a small provincial city to the 'Ugly Three Brothers' dolls and the wall hole where students secretly order Jajangmyeon. Director Kim Yong-hwan explained, "I tried to realistically and naturally capture Korean stories and spaces, and this work was made with the utmost effort over a period of 6 years and 10 months until its release."
Lee Su-hyun also stated, "〈Your Letter〉 contains a sentiment and background unique to Korea more than any other film," adding, "Especially, I think you will be able to feel the analog sensibility and emotion well." It is reported that the original webtoon author, Jo Hyun-a, expressed her emotions and satisfaction after watching the adapted work.
Director Kim reflected, "We had a short preview with Jo Hyun-a before the final version was completed, and she was so moved that she cried a lot, which felt like receiving praise."
