〈Tampopo〉 is officially landing in Korea after 40 years.
The 1985 film 〈Tampopo〉 tells a warm drama about six people who gather to save a ramen shop with no customers, each perfecting a bowl with their unique personalities. The cooking process of ramen is blended into the composition of a Western film, earning 〈Tampopo〉 the nickname 'Ramen Western', directed by Juzo Itami.
Having never been officially released in Korea, 〈Tampopo〉 is set to make its official debut in Korea to celebrate its 40th anniversary. The teaser poster released with the announcement of the December release captures the moment of someone drinking broth while holding a ramen bowl, enticing the audience. The quote from Daniel Kwan, director of 〈Everything Everywhere All at Once〉, stating "a work that reflects my soul as it is" piques curiosity.
〈Tampopo〉 will be released in December 2025.
