Netflix's new thriller series 'The Beast in Me' is set to be released on November 13, generating buzz. This 8-episode miniseries stars Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys and depicts the psychological battle between a writer and a murder suspect.
Claire Danes plays the role of Pulitzer Prize-winning author Aggie Wicks, while Matthew Rhys portrays real estate mogul Nile Jarvis, who is accused of murdering his wife. After losing her young son in a car accident, Aggie decides to make Nile, who moves in next door, the subject of her new book.
Showrunner Howard Gordon explained the casting background, stating, "Claire has a very rare ability to convey the innermost thoughts." Gordon planned this project based on his experience working with Danes on 'Homeland'.
Matthew Rhys expressed gratitude, saying, "It's not common to take on such roles, and I appreciate it very much," adding, "This character had to embody both danger and charm, as well as vulnerability." In fact, Rhys obtained an OSHA certification to operate a construction lift for the filming.
The series is produced by Gav Rother and directed by Antonio Campos, with Jodie Foster and Conan O'Brien serving as executive producers. Brittany Snow, Natalie Morales, and Jonathan Banks also appear in supporting roles.
This work, which recorded 84% freshness on Rotten Tomatoes, is said to be inspired by the real documentary 'The Jinx'. Netflix expects this series to top the streaming charts.
