ABC's senior dating reality show 'Golden Bachelor' Season 2 reached its finale on November 12, revealing Mel Owens' final choice. The 66-year-old former football player Owens set out to find love with 23 female contestants since the season premiered on September 24.
Season 2 consisted of 7 episodes and featured a fast-paced storyline, with the first two episodes released simultaneously, generating buzz. It aired every Wednesday at 8 PM (Eastern Standard Time) on ABC and was also available for streaming on Hulu the following day.
According to Reality Steve, Owens is reported to have ultimately chosen one contestant. Earlier, in the 'Women Tell All' special that aired at the end of October, there was a reunion with eliminated contestants, including Debbie. Owens heightened expectations for the finale in an interview with Us Weekly on October 22, stating, "It is true that I leaned a little more towards one person."

The finale was filmed in Antigua in the Caribbean. Owens said, "I am going to Antigua. I have never been there. I have been to the island, but this is my first time there," adding, "I don't know who scouted and prepared the location, but every detail was really nice. It was truly moving. I am a little nervous, but it is so wonderful. It is unbelievably good."
'Golden Bachelor' follows the typical format of the Bachelor franchise, featuring the final rose ceremony and proposal, followed by a live 'After the Final Rose' interview. ABC announced the production of Season 2 on April 22, 2025, selecting Owens as the lead.
