With the release scheduled for next year, the Disney+ original series 〈The Remarried Empress〉 has prompted an official apology from the production company due to controversy over props related to the German Nazis.

The production company Studio N issued an official statement on the 15th, deeply apologizing for the mistake that occurred during the inspection process of the costume props. The production team acknowledged the seriousness of the issue and stated that they would proceed with the replacement of the already released photos and implement thorough follow-up measures to prevent recurrence.

This controversy originated from a still cut first revealed at the 'Disney+ Original Preview 2025' event held in Hong Kong on the 13th. Following the event, it was pointed out on the social media platform X that the medal worn by actor Ju Ji-hoon was quite similar to the German Nazi's 3rd Class Gold Service Medal.

Looking at the photos of the two medals compared online, significant similarities are confirmed in the design of the 'Iron Cross' shaped medal, the color scheme based on white and gold, and the use of a red ribbon. This led to a rapid spread of controversy among netizens.

The production company acknowledged the inadequacy of the prop inspection process; however, a specific plan regarding whether to completely reshoot the scene featuring the prop or to remove the prop using editing techniques from the existing footage has not yet been finalized.

〈The Remarried Empress〉 is a romance fantasy work set in the fictional country of Dongdae Empire, depicting the process of Empress Nabihye (played by Shin Min-a) remarrying Prince Heinri (Lee Jong-suk) of a neighboring country after divorcing Emperor Sobiesu (Ju Ji-hoon). It is based on a web novel of the same name and features a unique worldview where characters in uniforms and dresses attend a ball.

〈The Remarried Empress〉 will be exclusively released on Disney+ in the second half of next year.
