'Everybody Loves Raymond' 30th Anniversary Reunion, Tribute to Late Sawyer Sweeten

The cast of the popular American sitcom 'Everybody Loves Raymond' reunited to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its airing. This special broadcast included a tribute to the late child actor Sawyer Sweeten, who passed away at the age of 19 in 2015, touching the hearts of fans.

In the special 'Everybody Loves Raymond 30th Anniversary Reunion' aired on CBS on November 25 (local time), lead actor Ray Romano reminisced about Sawyer with the cast. "Sawyer is no longer with us, but we miss him. He was a bright energy and a light."

The Challenges of Stardom at a Young Age

Sawyer Sweeten played the role of twin sons Jeffrey and Michael of Ray and Debra, alongside his twin brother Sullivan Sweeten. This sitcom aired for 9 years from 1996 to 2005, featuring his real sister Madylin Sweeten as the eldest daughter Ally, allowing the family to act together.

Sawyer shocked fans by ending his life by gun suicide at the age of 19 at his family home in Texas on April 23, 2015.

Twin brother Sullivan reflected on the challenges of childhood stardom during the reunion special, saying, "We enjoyed being on the show. But later we realized how much school we missed and how we couldn't socialize with other kids," recalling the difficulties of childhood stardom.

Sister Madylin remembered, "Sawyer was more than a friend and a brother. He was a strong and selfless friend." She honors him every year on the anniversary of his passing through a brand called 'Design by Durrie' and collaborates with a suicide prevention hotline.

This special broadcast provided a suicide prevention message, guiding viewers to call 988 in crisis situations. 'Everybody Loves Raymond' is remembered as a popular sitcom that produced 210 episodes over 9 seasons and won multiple Emmy Awards.
