Actor Hyun Bin is changing his face.
〈Made in Korea〉 is a work that depicts the story of 'Baek Gi-tae' (Hyun Bin), a man who aims to rise to the peak of wealth and power by making the country a profit model during the chaotic and transformative 1970s in South Korea, and the prosecutor 'Jang Geon-young' (Jung Woo-sung), who relentlessly pursues him to the edge of a cliff, facing monumental events that penetrate the era.
Hyun Bin plays 'Baek Gi-tae', a department head of the Central Intelligence Agency and an ambitious man. Can the veteran actor Hyun Bin, who is celebrating his 21st year since his debut, complete another life character?
Ambitious Hyun Bin, Noir Transformation of a Master of Gaze
In a previously released interview, Hyun Bin described 'Baek Gi-tae' as "the character where desire is expressed most directly since my debut." As he said, 'Baek Gi-tae' is a dual character who protects the center of power as a Central Intelligence Agency agent during the day and expands his influence through smuggling at night. Hyun Bin, who has built a unique image in the romance genre, will showcase a completely new face through a historical drama and noir genre with a heavy narrative.
Handsome Winning Combination: Pomade + Suit
To embody the symbolism of the Central Intelligence Agency agent character, Hyun Bin underwent detailed adjustments from physique to styling. With meticulously styled pomade hair, a solid physique, and a sharply falling suit silhouette, he maximized the cold charisma and completed the imposing presence of 'Baek Gi-tae'. The cold styling further accentuates the classic charm and duality of the character.
The Spectrum of Relationships with Various Characters
Known as a chemistry master, Hyun Bin is expected to form complex relationships with various characters in this work, including fierce confrontations with 'Jang Geon-young' (Jung Woo-sung), brotherly affection with 'Baek Gi-hyun' (Woo Do-hwan), and strategic alliances with 'Ikeda Yuji' (Won Ji-an). The narrative with each character will lead 'Baek Gi-tae' to different choices, and how Hyun Bin expresses the nuances of emotions within that will be a key point of immersion in the work.
