Hollywood stars are publicly criticizing the Donald Trump administration over the incident in which federal immigration agents shot and killed two U.S. citizens in Minnesota.
According to Hollywood media outlets 'Variety' and 'Deadline' on the 26th (local time), many actors participated in protests mourning the victims of the immigration authorities' shooting or strongly condemned the authorities through media interviews at the Sundance Film Festival, which opened on the 22nd in Park City, Utah.
Actress Natalie Portman, known for films like 〈Léon〉 and 〈Black Swan〉, criticized in an interview with 'Deadline' the day before, saying, "What is happening in this country right now is truly horrific," and added, "The actions being carried out by the Trump administration, Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen, and ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) are the worst situations where humanity is missing."
Throughout the festival, Portman expressed her resistance by wearing a pin that read 'ICE Out' and 'Be Good,' using the name of shooting victim Renee Good.
The evening before, a protest named 'Sundancers Melt ICE' was held in key areas of the festival. This event was to condemn the incident in which ICE and Border Patrol agents involved in an operation against illegal immigrants shot and killed Americans Renee Good (37) and Alex Preti (37) on the streets on the 7th and 24th.
