On April 25, 2026, at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, ‘BTS’ kicked off its ‘Arirang World Tour’ with a spectacular opening match. To witness this historic moment, the journey of an American older couple—who drove hundreds of kilometers from Knoxville, Tennessee to Tampa—has been drawing worldwide attention.
In the released video, the couple’s trip to Tampa is vivid and lifelike. From hotel check-in to visiting local restaurants, and from interacting with ‘ARMY’ gathered from around the world to joining a free giveaway event, the footage captures them fully soaking in the concert’s energy. The reason they were willing to endure the hardships of an older couple and embark on a long journey is clear. Through on-site interviews, they defined why they’re so captivated by ‘BTS’ as the ‘power of human solidarity’ and ‘unconditional love’.
At the three shows held in Tampa, a staggering crowd of more than 200,000 people showed up. From young couples who came holding their children’s hands to 90-year-old seniors, a massive scene of harmony unfolded—one that transcended age, race, and nationality. In particular, the sight of multinational fans chanting the Korean traditional folk song ‘Arirang’ together in Korean is widely regarded as the most overwhelming highlight of this event.
Meanwhile, this North America tour by ‘BTS’ will roll out on a large scale across a total of 12 cities for 31 shows. Kicking off in Tampa, the tour continues on May 2 and 3 in El Paso, Texas, before carrying on to major hub cities such as Mexico City, New York, and Los Angeles (LA), where it will keep meeting fans from all over the world in big stadiums.
