The group ’BTS’ is proving explosive popularity in the Latin America market, shaking up the landscape of the global music industry. The ’ARIRANG’ world tour show held in Mexico recently drew a stunning crowd of 150,000 viewers in just three days. The heat of the offline scene carried over online as well, and streaming music-platform indicators recorded an extraordinary milestone: Latin American countries have surpassed ’K-pop’ powerhouse Korea. This goes beyond a mere fan-driven trend, suggesting that Latin America is emerging as a new core hub for the music industry.

According to the music data media ’Luminate’, BTS’ regular 5th album ’ARIRANG’ achieved 739.1 million streams worldwide in its first week after release. That is the top figure among albums released in 2026. In particular, strength across Latin America is clearly visible in country-by-country indicators. Following the No. 1 United States, ’Brazil’ (86.6 million streams) and ’Mexico’ (75.9 million streams) jumped past Korea (58.3 million streams) to take spots No. 2 and No. 3, respectively. It is the moment when the massive consumer power of the Latin American music market is perfectly confirmed by numbers.

On the ’YouTube’ chart as well, four of the top 10 listening countries over the past 28 days were Latin American countries. After the Mexico City concert sold out and tickets were not available, about 35,000 people gathered outside to cheer together, and on the same day ’Claudia Sheinbaum’, the Mexican president, visited, an audience of 50,000 poured in. Riding this momentum, starting in October, they will kick off large stadium tours in major countries such as Colombia and Peru. ’HYBE’ plans to maximize its global business capabilities by making the Latin market its key hub.
