The show case held at Megabox COEX on Tuesday, June 16 brought out all the film’s leading stars, including Hwang Jung-min, Jo In-sung, and Jeong Ho-yeon, delivering a rich stretch of time with everything from talks to events. First, in remarks about her experience after attending the Cannes Film Festival last May, Hwang Jung-min said, “When
〈Hope〉 is screened, the sight of audiences responding together and clapping is what stood out to me. Seeing the works screened at the festival, this kind of experience was my first.” She recalled the buzz during the premiere.

Next, in the “Hope Tour” segment, where the stars shared key points for viewers to watch for in the film—from action to production and the actors’ on-screen chemistry—Jo In-sung talked about what it was like working with overseas actors who joined using motion capture and facial capture. “It was difficult to shoot because we were acting on the assumption that there is something there in a space with nothing. We worked hard to align our cues while adjusting, but we filmed while keeping a sense of humor.” About the process of preparing “Sung-ae,” Jeong Ho-yeon said, “I went through training from gun training to drills to perform car action. Personally, I also did strength training. I remember enjoying every moment.”

In the “Hope’s Best Residents” segment, where the actors and prospective audience members shared the screen together, the performers provided direct fan service to audience members selected through various events, adding to the excitement on site. Finally, Hwang Jung-min said, “I’m happy that I get to greet you like this before the film opens. If you wait a little longer, I’ll prepare and treat you to a great movie.” Jo In-sung said, “Like the title of the film, I hope that audiences will enjoy it, and I remember filming with my best effort with that hope in mind. I hope you’ll have a lot of expectations and interest up until opening day.” Jeong Ho-yeon said, “Thank you to everyone who made time and traveled a long way to come. I’ll see you again at the theater on July 15 opening day.” With their impressions shared alongside the audience, the show case wrapped up successfully.

〈Hope〉 is a story that begins after “Beom-seok,” the manager of the Hope Port branch office located in the demilitarized zone, hears from neighborhood youths that a tiger has appeared, and the whole village goes into a state of emergency as it encounters an unbelievable reality. Director Na Hong-jin, who has captivated audiences and critics with an overwhelming sense of immersion, high-quality mise-en-scène, and outstanding directing, has spent years preparing his latest work 〈Hope〉. It is scheduled to open on July 15.
