'ENHYPEN' alumnus Heeseung makes solo debut as EVAN… transforms into a singer-songwriter

He breaks out of his idol skin and soars as an artist, EVAN's lethal solo stand

Heeseung, who debuted with global boy group 'ENHYPEN', has stepped out from past glory and faced the public under a new name: solo artist 'EVAN' (EVAN). His agency, Belift Lab, said that on the 22nd, 'EVAN' will make a surprise release of his first single, 'Ride or Die' (RIDE OR DIE), which distills his musical identity, and will begin full-fledged activities as an individual.

The debut single shows that he has evolved beyond being a simple performer into a complete 'singer-songwriter'. The album includes only two tracks: the title song 'Ride or Die', an 'alternative rock' genre with beats that hit the heart, and 'Overflow', an indie pop track with a delicate, comfortable mood. Yet the musical weight is anything but light. In particular, 'EVAN' personally led everything from lyrics and composition for all tracks to 'producing', and even spearheaded visual creative concept planning, building his own unmistakable artistic worldview.

His philosophy, too, is worth noting: he wants to deeply connect with the public through music. 'EVAN' said, "I hope this album reaches many people with deep comfort and messages of hope," adding, "Just as the melodies of the artists I looked up to became my salvation, if my music can also become 'a reason to keep living' for someone beyond mere consolation, there would be no greater happiness." He delivered his heartfelt message.

He also did not hide his 'confidence' about stage performances. He said, "The tracks themselves have an excellent narrative, but the true value of the song explodes when visual elements are combined on stage." He continued, "Along with the fun of interpreting the metaphors hidden in the lyrics, when you breathe in unison with an overwhelming performance, you can fully enjoy the most complete and exciting synesthetic experience."

Finally, 'EVAN' defined his view of life, saying, "After all, life is an intense journey of discovering the most truthful self hidden within each person's inner world," and left a firm vow: "Through future musical activities, I will continuously prove my 'most me' side, the one that is uniquely mine, to the world." With his first flapping start as he blossomed into a wild artist after leaving the safe nest of idol life, attention is turning to what kind of tectonic shift he will trigger in the music industry.
