The 'Yook Young-soo assassination' rocked South Korea in 1974. 'Assassins', a film that probes the mystery hidden behind the event, is creating a major stir at theaters. It easily surpassed 1 million cumulative admissions just four days after its release and has cemented its dominance at the box office.

'Assassins' drew 1.12 million moviegoers during the Chuseok holiday from Sept. 25 to 27, taking the No. 1 spot at the box office. The result came after the film held the top position at the domestic box office for three consecutive days since opening on Sept. 23.
