MBC's new drama 'Let's Go to the Moon' teaser was embroiled in controversy over the mockery of Middle Eastern culture, leading the broadcaster to delete the teaser video just one day after its release.

On the 21st, MBC explained in an official statement, "The recently released teaser video for the drama 'Let's Go to the Moon' was produced by setting the background of a confectionery company and parodying famous ice cream ads from the 1980s and 1990s." However, they acknowledged, "In this process, there was insufficient consideration for other cultures," admitting a lack of cultural sensitivity.

The broadcaster immediately deleted the problematic video and stated, "We will pay more careful and prudent attention to ensure that similar issues do not arise in the future."

The controversial teaser video featured actors Lee Sun-bin, Ra Mi-ran, Jo Ah-ram, and Kim Young-dae wearing traditional clothing from Middle Eastern countries while parodying popular ice cream ads from the past and performing comedic dances.

After the video was released, some overseas viewers criticized it for lacking respect for Middle Eastern culture. On online platforms such as social media, there were heated reactions claiming, "They mocked our culture."

Meanwhile, 'Let's Go to the Moon' is a drama depicting the story of three women from humble beginnings who venture into coin investment to seek survival, set to premiere on the 19th of next month.
