A shocking incident occurred when Mia Thornton, a former cast member of Bravo TV's popular reality show 'The Real Housewives of Potomac (RHOP)', was arrested for theft at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in Georgia.
Thornton was arrested by police at the Customs and Border Protection office at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on November 19 (local time) and was subsequently incarcerated at Fulton County Jail.
Allegations of Unauthorized Removal of Furniture from Rental Condo at Midnight
According to Atlanta police, Thornton is accused of stealing furniture from a rental condo located on Marietta Street.
The police report states that Thornton and a man identified as Jared McGriff suddenly moved out in the middle of the night on October 28 without prior notice, taking $11,000 (approximately 15 million won) worth of furniture, including a TV. The condo management company claims they took the furniture without permission, and the condo owner reported the incident to the police through a friend on November 6.
Thornton announced in April of this year via Instagram that she was leaving RHOP after four seasons to move to Atlanta with her family. At that time, she stated, "The new chapter is already filled with exciting opportunities," making the news of her arrest a significant shock to fans.
Thornton appeared in RHOP from seasons 6 to 9 and is an entrepreneur operating several franchise businesses in the Washington D.C. area. She shares custody of three children with her ex-husband Gordon Thornton, with whom she ended an 11-year marriage.
A spokesperson for Thornton has not responded to requests for comment as of now.
