"The Legend Continues"... Dragon Ball Super, 'Beerus Arc' Remake & 'Moro Arc' Anime Adaptation Confirmed

It is the legendary return that the world has been waiting for. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Dragon Ball, the early animation of the 'Super' series, which has had its share of controversies, is being perfectly revised, and the popular episode from the original comics, the 'Moro Arc', is finally being adapted into animation.

According to the animation industry on the 26th (Korean time), on the 25th at the 'Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri' event held at Makuhari Messe in Japan, executive producer Akio Iyoku officially announced two massive projects.

◆ In Fall 2026, 'The War of the Gods' is Reimagined

The first project is 'Dragon Ball Super: Beerus', which will air in Fall 2026. This is the 'Enhanced Edition' that completely overhauls the early part (Beerus Arc) of 'Dragon Ball Super', which faced animation collapse controversies when it aired in 2015. The production team confidently stated, "This is not just a simple remaster; it has undergone scene additions, full re-rendering, sound effect replacements, and voice actor re-recordings, making it practically a new work." The voice actor for the God of Destruction Beerus, Koichi Yamadera, raised expectations by saying, "We have perfectly realized Toriyama-sensei's original work with the latest technology."

◆ Finally, the 'Moro Arc' is Adapted into Animation... Airing in 2027

The most celebrated news among fans is the confirmation of the second project, 'Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol'. This work, set to air in 2027, deals with the story following the 'Universe Survival Arc' in the animation. Known in the original manga as the 'Galactic Patrol Prisoner Arc', this episode depicts the fierce battle against the powerful sorcerer 'Moro (Planet-Eater Moro)', who absorbs the life energy of planets. The released teaser visuals featured Goku and Vegeta in armor marked with the Galactic Patrol emblem, thrilling the audience.

The living legend voicing Goku, Masako Nozawa, shouted on stage with her signature vibrant voice, "Goku's adventures are not over yet!" adding significance to the 40th anniversary.
