The distributor of the film 〈Sugar〉 (directed by Choi Shin-chun, produced by Tiger Energy and Message Film Co., Ltd.) announced that "the film 〈Sugar〉 has been sold to over 10 major Asian countries including Indonesia, Taiwan, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong." In particular, it has been confirmed to premiere in theaters in Indonesia in the first week of February, allowing local audiences to experience it on the big screen. With a high interest in K-content in the Indonesian market, expectations are rising for how 〈Sugar〉, which deals with Korean sentiment and universal family love, will resonate in theaters.

Additionally, it will reach audiences across Asia through various platforms. In Vietnam, it is set to release in the first week of March, and in Taiwan, it is scheduled for the fourth week of April. Following that, in June, it will be released in theaters and through SVOD and PayTV in Southeast Asian and Chinese-speaking countries including Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Thailand, the Philippines, Hong Kong, and Macau. The enthusiastic response from overseas markets is analyzed as a result of the synergy between the strength of 'original Hallyu goddess' Choi Ji-woo and the film's 'power of true stories.'

After its domestic release, the film 〈Sugar〉 has continued to enjoy 'good box office' amidst positive reviews from actual viewers, and with this confirmation of its overseas expansion, it has further solidified its position as a 'global healing movie.' Meanwhile, the film 〈Sugar〉, which tells the miraculous true story of a mother, 'Mira' (played by Choi Ji-woo), who created medical devices for her son diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, is currently being screened nationwide.
