Emergency Situation for 4-Year-Old Son During Filming in Hungary

In a new interview with Town & Country, Kirsten Dunst shared the nightmare experience of being a parent when health issues arose for her 4-year-old son James while filming in Hungary.

In January, her husband Jesse Plemons and their two sons moved to Hungary while she was working. However, due to her son James's health crisis, the family had to return to Los Angeles without her, where they could receive support from an expanded support system.

Imagining the Worst Like 'Final Destination'

Dunst did not elaborate on what happened to James, but the magazine described it as an extremely frightening time for the family.

The 'Civil War' star was able to go home briefly in April, but the worries continued. The actress described the situation as 'like 'Final Destination', imagining everything that could go wrong, and the worst-case scenario happening to your child.'

She clarified that she had not seen 'that movie', but added, 'But I understand the concept. Sometimes being a mom feels like that.'

Crisis That 'Brought the Family Closer Together'

Dunst reassured that her son is okay now, but said that the moment 'bonded us as a family in a much deeper way.'

She also shared that she promised to take her sons on vacation, saying, 'Anywhere James wants to go.'

After James said he wanted to go to a beach where 'my sandcastle won't wash away', the family is set to depart for the Bahamas.

Couple Protecting Their Privacy, Also Working as Creative Partners

For years, Dunst and Plemons have kept their children away from the spotlight. The couple married in July 2022 after dating for six years. They met on the set of 'Fargo' in 2015.

'We fell in love creatively first and then fell in love as actors,' she said while appearing on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!'.

The two later worked together on the Academy Award-nominated film 'The Power of the Dog', and in the same interview, she told Jimmy Kimmel that Plemons is her 'favorite actor' to work with.

They welcomed their first son Ennis in 2018, and James was born in 2021.
