Candid Confession About 'Plastic Surgery to Appeal to Men'

In an interview with Allure published on Tuesday, August 19, 35-year-old actress Julia Fox revealed that she had plastic surgery to appeal to men in the past.

"It is very important to be transparent when you become famous or a public figure," she said. "When I see someone now who hasn’t done anything... I want to go back and be that person. I was so obsessed with the idea that I had to be attractive to men to survive," she confessed.

Botox, Liposuction, Rhinoplasty, and Veneers

Fox shared that she previously underwent Botox, liposuction, rhinoplasty, and veneer procedures, but stated that she currently has no plans for future procedures. "I might get (more procedures) someday, but right now I don’t care that much about it," she said.

'Being Young and Sexy Was My Identity' Fear of Aging

In the midst of the plastic surgery craze, the actress said she has "something to say" about aging naturally, but still revealed her fear of getting older.

"I think that’s what I’m most afraid of. The feeling of aging, and sometimes I feel old... I feel tired, exhausted, and disillusioned," she explained. "When you’re young and sexy, that’s your identity. Then damn, you think you have to stay young and sexy," she said.

'Chase the Old Self or Evolve'

Fox explained that she is still weighing her options on how to approach aging.

"Am I going to chase my old self, or am I going to evolve and see what’s on the other side?" she ponders. "It could be something completely different, and I’m choosing that path. I just want to see who’s waiting for me. It’s going to be uncomfortable for sure, but I feel like I’m ready to embrace it," she said.

Confident Stance Despite Fashion Sense Controversy

In her interview with Allure, Fox also defended her controversial fashion sense.

"For New Yorkers, (my style) is normal," she said. "But what’s wrong with her for someone who’s not used to it? What medication is she on? She’s just a whore trying to get attention. Oh my god, I can tell you that makeup looks ugly," she said.

She explained that each of her outfits should "carry some kind of meaning" and allow her to "play that character," adding that "art should be controversial."
