The six-member girl group DreamNote is taking steps towards disbandment after seven years since their debut. The agency, Idea Music Entertainment Korea, announced the end of their exclusive contract through an official statement on the 22nd.

The agency stated, "After sufficient discussions based on mutual trust and respect, we have decided to end the exclusive contract as of November 7, 2025." They continued, "Since their debut, DreamNote has conveyed bright and positive energy through music and performances while engaging in various activities."

The agency expressed gratitude to the fans, saying, "The love and support from the Page (fandom name) throughout this journey have always been a great source of strength." They also stated, "We deeply appreciate the passion and effort the members have shown during our time together, and we sincerely wish them the best in their new beginnings as they continue on their respective paths."

DreamNote debuted on November 7, 2018, with the single 'Dreamlike'. The group name DreamNote is a combination of 'DREAM', 'Dream', and 'NOTE', meaning to always share dreams with fans and the public and to achieve them together.

Originally debuting as an eight-member group, DreamNote was restructured to six members after members Habin and Hanbyeol left in 2019. The current members are Yua, Bonnie, Lara, Miso, Sumin, and Eunjoo. Yua has been leading the team as the leader.

After their debut, DreamNote released various songs such as 'Barada', 'Ghost', 'Song of the Bee', and 'Lemonade'. Last October, they continued their activities by releasing the single 'Green Light'. In October 2024, they also ventured into overseas activities by releasing their first single album 'Joyful Green' in Japan.

With the end of this contract, DreamNote could not overcome the 'seven-year curse' of K-pop girl groups and is taking steps towards disbandment. In the K-pop industry, the seventh year after debut is referred to as the 'seven-year curse', as most exclusive contracts last for seven years, making it a common time for decisions on re-contracting or disbandment.

DreamNote will hold their last fan meeting on November 9 at the Sangam Esplex Center in Seoul. Exactly two days after their contract ends on November 7, which marks their seventh anniversary, they will have their final meeting with fans. Fans are expected to reflect on six years of memories and support the members during this fan meeting.
