The founder and legend of Chicago drill hip-hop, Chief Keef, heated up the online world with extreme news of 'shooting death rumors' and 'major festival appearance' within a day. In conclusion, the shooting rumors were false, and he takes the stage at the world's largest hip-hop festival to showcase his vitality.
On the 14th, rumors rapidly spread that Chief Keef was shot six times and in critical condition after visiting his hometown's O-Block for a music video shoot.
◆ Manager: "He is safe... hasn't been to Chicago in 2 years"
As the rumors spiraled out of control, Chief Keef's manager, Idris Dykes, immediately denied them in an interview with FOX Chicago. Dykes stated, "Chief Keef was not shot and is in very good condition." He particularly emphasized that "Chief Keef hasn't even been to Chicago in the last two years," asserting that the rumors are completely unfounded. In the early 2010s, he introduced the subgenre of gangster rap known as 'drill' to the world with hits like 'I Don't Like' and 'Love Sosa', having previously lived in Chicago's O-Block but is now active elsewhere.
◆ Joining the 'Rolling Loud' lineup as if to mock the rumors
Coincidentally, on the day the fake news spread, Chief Keef was announced as a major lineup for 'Rolling Loud 2026'. According to the organizers, Chief Keef will take the stage at the festival held at Florida's Camping World Stadium in Orlando from May 8 to 10.
This year's Rolling Loud is the only event in the U.S. moving from Miami to Orlando, featuring over 75 luxurious artists including headliners Playboi Carti, NBA YoungBoy, and Don Toliver.
With the malicious rumors behind him, the 'King of Drill' has confirmed his vitality, and hip-hop fans are eagerly anticipating what explosive performance he will deliver in Orlando this May.
