Rupert Grint, who captivated the world as Ron Weasley in the 'Harry Potter' series, is making headlines as he reunites with Ed Sheeran in the new music video after 14 years. This collaboration between the two red-haired stars is gaining attention not just for the reunion but for its high-quality storytelling that addresses the passage of time and maturity.

According to the entertainment industry, Ed Sheeran announced that he will be collaborating with Rupert Grint again in the music video for his latest single 'A Little More', marking their first collaboration since 'Lego House' in 2011. At that time, Grint was at the peak of his popularity with the release of the final 'Harry Potter' film, where he left a strong impression as a superfan of Sheeran.

In the 2011 'Lego House' music video, Grint appeared as a superfan character who sneaks onto Sheeran's tour bus and makes his way backstage to face a cheering crowd. Initially mistaken for Sheeran due to their shared red hair, he is eventually stopped by a security guard, and the final scene concludes with him being thrown out of the venue, encountering his hero Sheeran.

14 Years Later, the Story of a Superfan Released from Prison

The new 'A Little More' music video begins with Grint's character being released after 14 years of incarceration. He seems to brush past Sheeran, who is dressed as a prison guard, but it soon becomes clear that this is a figment of his imagination. He is haunted by the apparition of Sheeran, the hitmaker of 'Shape of You', wherever he goes, even seeing him at therapy meetings and 'Stalker Anonymous' group meetings.

While it seems that his life is improving as he enters into a relationship with Natalie Emmanuel from 'Game of Thrones', the hallucinations of Sheeran intensify, culminating in an extreme situation where Sheeran appears at his wedding. This setting delicately portrays the obsession that remains unchanged over time and the human desire to escape from it.

New Musical Challenge Influenced by Blues

'A Little More', influenced by blues, was co-written by Sheeran and British rapper Dave. The two have previously collaborated on tracks like 'Nothing on You' and 'F64', and this song also features Blake Slatkin, Circ, and Sheeran's long-time collaborator Johnny McDaid.

Lyrically, it is interpreted as a message directed at a past friend who blames Sheeran for their misfortunes. Sheeran showcases his rapping skills in the track, expanding his musical spectrum. Notably, the lyrics reflect his current perspective as an adult, having moved away from a past dependent relationship.

This single is a follow-up to Sheeran's previous single 'Sapphire', which showcased global musical attempts, including a special version where he sang the chorus in Hindi and Punjabi. Now 36, Grint recently appeared in M. Night Shyamalan's 2023 work 'Knock at the Cabin', marking his first feature film return since 'Moonwalkers' in 2015. On TV, he starred in Shyamalan's critically acclaimed series 'Servant', which concluded in its fourth season in 2023.

Meanwhile, Ed Sheeran's new album 'Play' is set to be released on September 12.
