The film deals with the story of the young king Lee Hong-wi (Danjong), who was exiled after being ousted from the throne following the Gye-yu Jeongnan of 1457, and the village chief Eom Heung-do of Gwangcheon-gol in Yeongwol, Gangwon-do. In the released stills, Yoo Hae-jin transforms into the village chief Eom Heung-do, hinting at his unique humanistic performance.

The scene of Director Jang Hang-jun and actor Yoo Hae-jin working together on set creates an atmosphere reminiscent of a scene from the movie. The village chief, who tried to make Cheongnyeongpo a place of exile for the struggling villagers, faces conflicts and changes as he welcomes the deposed king, which is a key point of the work.

This work is gaining attention not only for its lead actors but also for its solid supporting lineup. Various characters that penetrate the era, including the concubine Mae-hwa, are expected to add depth to the drama.

The serious appearance of the actor playing the role of the Governor of Yeongwol, Eo Se-gyeom, has also been revealed through stills. It raises curiosity about how the narratives of each character will intertwine with Village Chief Eom Heung-do and the deposed king Lee Hong-wi.

The sharp gaze of Han Myung-hwa, who is at the pinnacle of power, adds tension to the drama. A solid scenario based on historical facts and the actors' performances promise the birth of a well-made historical drama.

In this work, Yoo Hae-jin is expected to show both the agony of being a conservative owner protecting the place of exile and his human side. He delicately portrays the psychology of the village chief as he watches the king, who has lost his will to live, change.

The stills of Geumseong Daegun also exude a sense of solemnity. 'The King’s Affection' goes beyond simple historical reproduction, shedding light on the hidden stories that history tried to erase.

On the 21st, a press conference was held at Megabox COEX in Gangnam, Seoul, attended by Director Jang Hang-jun and main cast members including Yoo Hae-jin, Park Ji-hoon, Yoo Ji-tae, Jeon Mi-do, and Kim Min, who brightened the event.

At the conference, the actors shared deep interpretations of their roles and filming episodes, raising expectations for the film. In particular, Park Ji-hoon drew attention by expressing the emotional depth he felt while portraying the ill-fated king Danjong.

The film 'The King’s Affection' deals with the ironic cohabitation of the lost king, who asks, "Where do I go now?" and the village chief who must watch over him. This work, armed with a casting that seems to have come out of history books and a solid story, is expected to resonate with audiences.
