
CJ ENM and Studio Dragon's locally produced Japanese drama ‘Marry My Husband’ (hereafter referred to as the Japanese version of Marry My Husband) has proven to be the biggest sensation of the year in Japan.
According to Google’s announcement of ‘Year in Search 2025: Japan’, the ‘Japanese version of Marry My Husband’ topped the search rankings in the drama category, surpassing strong contenders. This record exceeds that of the globally popular ‘Squid Game’ (2nd place), showcasing the overwhelming impact this work had in Japan this year.

Released globally in June via Amazon Prime Video, the ‘Japanese version of Marry My Husband’ stars Koshiba Fuka and Sato Takeru, created through the collaboration of South Korea's Ahn Gil-ho and Japan's Oshima Satomi.
The work set a record for the highest viewership among Amazon original content in Japan within a month of its release, and ranked in the TOP 5 in the annual TV Shows category. Notably, among the 10 works that entered the TOP 10, all 9 others were Japanese animations, indicating how unique the success of this live-action drama was.

This success proves that South Korea's excellent drama planning and production capabilities resonate well in overseas markets. The delicate adaptation tailored to local sentiments and the sensuous direction by the Korean production team have been praised for breaking cultural boundaries.
A representative from Studio Dragon stated, “Building on the success of the American drama ‘The Machine That Reads Destiny’ and the Japanese version of Marry My Husband, we are currently developing over 20 English and Japanese dramas,” adding, “We plan to continuously expand our influence as a global studio.”
